you were there without being there
you knew without knowing
she was your little girl
and how fast she was growing
it hurt you deep
it pained your pride
knowing without being known
on the inside
and now she's grown

and now she's grown

you took her hand
tried to understand
knew it was her
right from the start
how could they be so blind
knowing without knowing
on the inside

and you love her still
probably always will
tough she got so distant
so far away from you
you now it's over for real
and you know she'll grow more
than she already has
with the knowing

without knowing

on the inside

the not knowing, is sometimes so painful Julie. Nicely done.
