undying reality is the life we own we step across the bridge onto those in-betweens new beginnings embark gusty winds, showers sometimes storms leave us praying for dawn where vibrations of sound grow curt puzzles gradually slip from memory but become weekly rituals body contact with thought interstate of voids which creep a cold silence advances with a sigh like a run'way horse serving trays of private practice from previous meals take on a live feel reciting to the mind stretching like a rubber band control powers that somehow healspurgatory that gorge of gut wrenching hapless sound call me self expression of battered women call me a matter of choice an error or a dream that melts on the face of loss a blemish to a blessing knowledge the cause I'm a trick a mandatory evaluation comes full circle vomiting frustration despite a lack of make-up property damage comes stubborn drawing a blank on all those graduate courses yeah lol or 101 an activist canvassing the walk I talk shoulder to shoulder with sudden danger slamming doors just to rub my cat hairs the wrong way isn't it funny though? red magic markers painting roses on each new spring my lips being serious losses becomes just the chicken soup I need still climbing that fence & falling through hehe I'm socially backwards despite allowing society some control there is risk adding a small amount of loneliness connected with flying on your own sometimes that stick shift grinds while enthusiastic frustrations shovel the snow rage can't have me neither can any man unless the Heimlich Maneuver becomes a willing victim of a one man band I've sucked enough manipulation smashed all those grab bags dug graves for dead men who work as security guards for private players of craps & one eyed jacks you know, that general liability of middle class tokens ones with good faith and so on... some joker took a battery from my obscene suspended impressions but I got em on a cd that theoretically changes from week to week the powerhouse is immense the walk a maze of superstructure drawers full with skylights melting those smaller glaciers lighted fingers of watchmen filter various openings costing nothing… and so… despite hitting the panic button life is ours, it is our own name our male & female socket wrenches cold cocking Mr. fix it so pack up the clock grab a clipboard of to do's take a flashlight down that hall of art you've always wanted to the fuel gauge never runs on empty long as you watch that full frontal nudity special on direct tv jam the beach blanket in that trunk of one night stands that lasted for years I jog in the dark love oversized cookies devouring books black coffee going slower then usual but still feel like I'm flying what matters is that fifteen minute walk you take to cool down after you've finished your miles just don't run without your glasses on register all your questions and smile once in a while at a stranger remember given a moment alone might seem a little weird but when ya hit the target sometimes you find a relatively normal bulls eye this life is yours and you are what you believe yourself to be nothing more nothing less ain't nothing you can't do baby! Lee, That's a long dialogue to say you're on your own. |

love ya Sy, but the main subject is not about me being on my own? but yes, it is awful long, perhaps I should call it a rant? Happy Wed. Only two more days to go |

What an extraordinary poem! This is masterful, even for you. Well done -- and that's coming from a guy who usually doesn't like long poems! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

"isn't it funny though? red magic markers painting roses on each new spring my lips being serious losses becomes just the chicken soup I need still climbing that fence & falling through hehe I'm socially backwards despite allowing society some control " You are much wiser than you let on. And sometimes I bet you even surprise you… Beautiful Lee J. JL Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: |

"we step across the bridge onto those in-betweens" I seem to always trip up on those. "healspurgatory" Wow ... what a delightful ... word ... indeed you are "a trick." "our male & female socket wrenches cold cocking Mr. fix it" I found myself nodding yes in agreement or bursting out laughing while reading this piece. Rant or not ... you stated it all exquisitely dear lady. Good job! always seeking joy, adventure and romance and wishing you find the same |

It's always hard to pick out favourite lines in your poetry - they lead one into the other flawlessly but always give food for thought. This one ends with great advice and encouragement - hope your friend takes it. Take care. Helen |
