Once In A Lifetime

Sometimes it seems you've lost your way,
And in your shadow see a stranger,
Whose truth still hides behind dismay,
Whose eyes are full of grief and anger.

And you don't notice anything,
The colors fade, the stars go out.
The page is over, still you think
Just what this story was about.

The same wrong steps, the same mistakes,
But you can't change in words the letters,
Or choose the only one right way
To cease this song, put back the shatters.

Once in your life it happens that
The answer comes, the words are found,
Between mere memories and regrets,
Mere dreams and love there's no bound.
