thought it was you standing there so close, so resolute, so strong thought it was you standing there alas, ‘twas a foretaste of longing imagined in the crevasses of fantasy captured on the photo-plates of mem’ry drawn in the substance of hope painted on the canvasses of fancy thought it was you standing there in shadows plain and thoughts sublime thought it was you standing there alas, dark clouds…not silver-lined conjured on the tables of the heart illumined by pure desire engraved on tablets of reflection enlightened by the glow of your essence thought it was you standing there …thought it was you |
