I know that there is a miraculous power hidden in the secret places of grass passing silent witness to the way the ground gives as the noisy trees take root and make leaf and the shaking sweet perfume within quiet air seeps from the remarkable grace of a flower The sky is alive with motion and song and the water rejoicing the hours of the sun catches the bow of withering limb reflecting it back to itself yet again Caught in the invisible web of all time with strands like a hand print all warped and wrinkled the ancient things hang from the walls and the halls of the children with laughter and games made of sticks falling like stones on the heel of attachment belie not the power of a just waking child to exquisitely find that the petal still falls The beautiful water reflects in the faces of the children of children of old for the dying will open the path to the summer where the birth of contentment opens living again So quiet the photograph slaps at the knowledge that half of the tree is alive in the air where the birth of contentment breaks out of the sky and the other reflection lives again in your eye [This message has been edited by Martie (02-22-2007 07:05 PM).] |

Caught in the invisible web of all time with strands like a hand print all warped and wrinkled reminding me of the places I've felt...at times... catches the grace of withering limb reflecting it back to itself yet again to teach perhaps? So quiet the photograph slaps at the knowledge that half of the tree is alive with the sky and the other reflection brings it round in your eye ohhh my, how clearly you have grasped that insightful spiritual place.... darlin, this was absolutely profound, and you in your best Sunday outfit, beautiful |

MartieSis~ I thank the Lord-of-my-knowing for you~ 'Caught in the invisible web of all time with strands like a hand print all warped and wrinkled the ancient things hang from the walls and the halls of the children with laughter and games made of sticks falling like stones on the heel of attachment belie not the power of a just waking child to exquisitely find that the petal still falls' Oh my friend ... such an incredible moment~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Oh, but this is again my wish for a book to hold in my hands, with this in it. I got from this how very incredible it is in life, that we can live in whatever space we are given if we have the mind to adapt. Half in the water, half out, and still it survives and sends forth an image of utter beauty, for someone to see, and record, such as yourself. Absolutely exquisite Martie, both words and visual. Yes, remarkable grace both place and poet. |

There are circles here. The first time I saw this photo, I saw the several circles of nature, and like this home for poets... you gather in all that is good of what is, and not lament what could have been... The other circle is your come around again of words, acceptance of beginnings and ends, and anniversaries, so that the loved are not forgotten. Come around more often, and circle us in, Sissie. |

Martie, You speak of the miracles within the grass. I've felt this, too, when driving down the road, sometimes in not such a happy mood. There is something our environment offers us that can be miraculuous. When I let myself sink into or in between the blades of grass or study the pattern of shadows and lights, I am calmed. Your poem could not describe my love of nature any more perfectly. I so admire the way you grasp the exact words to describe it. I could never... What a poetess you are! (Keeping this nearby for a day I can't get out! The vision is lovely.) miscellanea |

There is that miracle, the one that surrouds us and lives within us, that both leads and follows us through this world, and carries us beyond. Your poetry presents and represents it, as well as any there is, anywhere, or has been.....this is one of so many examples. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Dear Martie, This is absolutely stunning poetry - makes one sit up and take notice of all that is and yet to be! |
