To view my future She looked at my palm and read 'Twas the dark of night "What cannot be seen Has no need of being seen Nor will it matter" "Safety in darkness Is to become the darkness Comfortably bred" "Trails of tear-stained words Leading you so far astray From intended loves" Spanning the darkness I search for a softer palm To place in my own So the nights go by As the wind on my back shifts Along with my thoughts Until once again Darkness embraces me here In her crystal ball Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me! |

Caro Capo, the beautiful title filled me with expectancy and what I found pleased me. You even made me think of quantum theory with your second stanza! First there was darkness but in its core the light prepared to be born. How comes we have that strange feeling of safety in the darkness of the night and contemporaneously we have such a strong yearning for the light? Even the darkest of humans know that there is something inside them that is spiritual. The creator put it there for them so they would know He exists. They may outwardly deny Him, but they cannot lie to themselves in their most quiet of moments. To see the light, one has only to close their eyes. So many thanks for your incredible reply mon amie. ("Quantum theory"? If you look behind you and have a binocular, that would be me running in the opposite direction trying to catch up to you) Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me! |
