This is indeed a quiet corner
Very little drama of late

One can take notes and leave them
Just as quietly as a friendly church mouse

Thoughts come freely and simply
No need for dress rehearsals

Leaving the quickened pace of "Open"
Tends, (I know) to redefine "quick"

Excepting for two, the 'Mr' should have departed
Of those two, always one in particular

A new year is upon us and there is yet work to be done
So many in need, so many in need

To do what one can is all to be done in good cheer
With all of the hand, not just the fingertips

So it is here that contemplation is near complete
In this quiet corner where little vibrates to the ear

But the soft chanting of a friendly church mouse

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

Very nice, the thought of a "friendly Church mouse" and her chanting.

There were times when "quick" meant really quick and this place, especially "Open" was much more alive than now. Your presence is much appreciated, dear Mr. Martini, you have brought some fresh winds. We come here to share our inspiration, but also to be inspired. There are personalities who are not "easy", but then to a certain extent none of us is ... With reciprocal respect we can get along as it is recommended in the rules.   I do invite you to resist, there are too many who peek in and disappear too quickly, probably the ego is fragile and is easily disappointed when applause or even only appreciation isn't satisfying.

Besides great poetry, you have written many sensitive, wise and lovely comments also on other people's works. You do understand the spirit of this place.
Thank you for that.

"Many things need to be done", no doubt!

I am sure you are able to be a multi-task man, contemplation included.

Do you hear? The mouse squeaked!

You are one of the "two" dear Margherita because you only show your teeth when you smile.

You also knew intuitively that my "church mouse" was female.

The "work" is the work of helping those who cannot help themselves...children all around this world. The "fingertips" are what we use to control our remote televisions and to pick popcorn from red-striped bags as we spend our waking hours on our plush sofas spiral-eyed ignoring the 'real' reality show.

So thank you my dear, for you are likely the only one to come this way. Perhaps I used a bit of "intuition" of my own.

Bright blessings mon cher amie,

Capo

You are so right, caro Capo, we waste so much time in futile things, when the whole world cries out for help. A great part of humanity, yes mostly children, and even Mother Earth!

To contribute in alleviating the suffering of our neighbors is a noble gesture. With compassion alone it isn't done, but it needs vocation and courage to reach out. Bravo Capo!

Intuition is a great gift, isn't it!

I love cartoons. Let me see if I can find another sweet chanting church mouse ...

Bright blessings to you too! Thank you.

Margherita
