Whenever I felt that love was ‘haunting’ me
I recalled that most apparitions are easily seen through.

I wanted love to have substance enough that I couldn't see through it.

These many days I spend sleeping with my  pet rock...

I had a pet rock once but it ran away.
My wife said that it just got tired of listening to me.
I think it just didn't like her tuna casserole
