Where The Sea-grass Grows I am lonely for the ocean And the seagull's strident cry. For the foggy morns and evenings That inflame the western sky. For the salty winds and breakers And the ocean's constant roar, As it rushes in and crashes On the cliffs along the shore. I am longing for the beaches We can walk along and see All the strange and briny treasures That are left for you and me. I can see us there together, As we were so long ago, And the waves, our names are calling, Where the long, sea-grasses grow! Betty Lou Hebert |

You make me want to be there too, Betty Lou. I love the beach and the water - especially on a foggy, drizzly day. Wonderfully written poem. xoxox Alison |

Alison. Nice to see your comments. Thanks. I have been away from the ocean far too long and I am hoping to pay a visit before summer is over. Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Lovely, this took me back into my longings of the sea and walking endlessly on a winter's beach, letting the wind blow me back into myself. |

Extraordinary! It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them. |

Those of us close to waters have a deep reverence for their majesty and romantic influence. It stirs emotions within us such as those sweet reminisces found in your poetry. One ladle serves the soup that feeds the mouths of the many. |
