Garlands of evergreens hanging on doors.
Umbrellas and parkas dripping on floors.
It’s drizzling and raining, not a snowflake in sight.
How can old Santa come sleighing tonight?

We have a nice snowfall one Christmas in twenty.
Other years in December we’ve raindrops aplenty.
I don’t know what he drives to alight on my roof.
But it makes much more noise than a small cloven hoof.

I don’t dare to peek, for I fear I’d be caught
And he’d take all the gifts he so cheerfully brought.
Perhaps his elves made a space ship for his flight
To insure that he gets ‘round the world in one night.

His gift list has grown since that long ago day
When his gifts would all fit into one little sleigh.
So he uses I’m sure, all the latest inventions.
The world in one night, his noble intentions.

Just take my advice and hurry to bed,
If expecting a visit from the big guy in red.
Santa seconds the time he is using tonight.
To mess up his schedule, just wouldn’t be right.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night.

Dear Joyce:

A charming and amusing poem.I really enjoyed it. Hope all is well with you and you have a great Holiday Season.

Ron and I are in Arizona this year for the winter and really enjoying it.
