Two Kitties He sits watching her through the patio door. She runs away as I reach out to fill her dish. He watches, envying her freedom. She looks back longing for his warmth. Her home, a cold space under the deck. He is ruler of the warm house. Their food dishes are inches apart, divided by the glass. She lifts her head to watch for predators. He buries his face in his food without worry. I move….. she runs. I move….. he follows me with trust. She trusts no one. By: Joyce 1/22/11 |

Betty Lou is right, Joyce. Thank you for feeding her (the kitty, not Betty Lou! Smiles) and looking after her and making her happy. I doubt that your boy kitty envies her her freedom. I think he loves you far too much for that - he probably just wants to make friends with the other precious kitty. Wouldn't it be wonderful if she learns to trust you? I think she is starting to learn that. Then you could have two kitties. Owl |

I'm really trying to get her to trust me. I was putting out food in case she came, but I was never sure whether she or wild critters was getting it. So now I wait until she shows. I have a stick in the door for extra protection and she doesn't like it when I take that out beccause it looks like a weapon. She moves out of sight but I know she still watches as I reach out to put food in her dish as well as guarding my big boy from getting out. She will come back in a few minutes and seems to be getting a bit less shy. She disappeared for several days and I worried that she'd been taken by predators. We have lots of them. But she is back now. Joyce |
