New Year's Day dawns bright and clear
A promise for the brand new year.
We know that January cold
And little February bold
Will challenge us with chill and rain,
But knowing the sun will shine again,
Will help us through the worst of it
And even warm us up a bit.
So come on Winter, do your worst,
But let me get the wood chopped first.

Joyce,

This is just how it is! March is such a beautiful month and just around the corner. We gain minutes of daylight each day ~ and I am so looking forward to each month.

Hi Joyce:

I enjoyed your poem.......as usual! I didn't chop wood the other night but I did have to haul some in and start a fire in my wood heater. I woke up during the night and it was so cold and realized my oil furnace had quit working. It's running again however.
