My colored World Behind a veil of mist, the trees Are shadows, barely seen. There is no hint to let you know That they are really green. The hill they're on, has disappeared. Likewise the road beyond, That leads you through a meadowland Up to a tranquil pond. At times, it thins and I can see More country that I know, But then it thickens, blots it out. I wish that it would go. I feel oppressed by swirls of white Against my windowpane. I long for sunshine to restore My colored world, again! Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Betty Lou The clouds roll in so low here on the 'Tableland' in North Queensland that it takes on the same misty view which you have versed so well here in your poem. Of course, we have been getting early frost now and the fog takes on that same eerie view. Love Verbena xo |

Trillium, it would be such a delight, if only the sunshine would come to stay. And, would you believe it has turned off cold, today. And, I already turned my furnace off. Wish mother nature would make up her mind. |
