The Spring That Never Was

Our spring is leaving quietly
Before it really came.
A day of sun just now and then
Is truly not the same

As the lovely spring we dreamed of
In winter's too long stay.
In a short time, spring will be gone
On another rainy day.

The berries are not ripening
And fields were seeded late.
Nature is calling all the shots
To seal a farmer's fate.

We weep for all the others
Who have suffered more than we.
The quakes, the floods and tornados
Have brought such misery.

We must reach out to one and all
And share each other's pain,
Knowing that some day, some year,
The sun will shine again.

Dear Joyce:

Very appropriate for this year! We have had three days of sunshine for the first time since the last snow which was Tuesday I believe. We sit at 3,500 ft. and that was where the snow started! Supposed to be nicer from now on and of course, it is almost the first day of summer!

Hey!

I know I'm not usual company here, but this reminded me of one of my favorite blues songs--

"Trouble In Mind"

(may I? I guess I have carte blanche..)

"Trouble in mind, I'm blue--
but I won't be blue always
'cause that sun's gonna shine in
my back door someday!"

It'll be there, Joyce. It will.

Love to all.
