The Ruler and the Yardstick

The ruler and the yardstick
Were walking side by side.
The ruler looked at him askance,
For showing so much pride.
"I know you are the tallest."
(With a smile upon his face
But feeling very daring,)
"What say we have a race?"
The ruler did his very best.
The yardstick easily beat.
Of course, there really was no doubt,
Because he has three feet!

Hi Joyce:

My family laughed when I read it to them, so thought I would publish it!
