I’ve found it again another painful blow The memory of your face Like the ocean’s ebb and flow If only the pain would cease for a moment It seems as though by now I would be able to own it. The clichés hide the fact that On the inside I’m broken All I could say has been said All the words have been spoken Yet still now, there’s so much unsaid I can hardly bring myself to say it… It’s over, your dead. Sure I have so much in life that I can embrace But still it’s so hard to paint a smile on my face You never were the kind to just hang around I just never thought you’d leave, you’d be in the ground. |

The loss of a family member is a terrible blow and you don't adapt to it in a hurry. It's a long process learning to live with a hole in your heart! Eventually, you pick up the pieces and go on however and even learn there is still happiness in life! Welcome to the site and hope you really enjoy it here. There are many fine poets and caring people here. Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

A very sad, deep poem, Nicole. Please, allow us to extend our condolences, and our prayers that a healing comes from all of this to you and your family in time. Welcome to Passions. " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love |

Coming to terms is hard to do. But PIP helps. It did for me when I lost my mother in 1999. Write on, Melton |

Dear Nicole, I am keeping you in prayer and do hope that you will get stronger everyday surely. I lost my grandma in October last year, she literally brought me up and it was just really hard. Your poignant piece invokes powerful emotions in me: Not just of pain, but also of the touching memories I made with her. Peace & Love, MiCheLLe If there cannot be equal in affection, then let the one with more be me - midnightblues |

not having lost a brother i cannot know the pain you are feeling but you have written it so beautifully and simply. all i will say is that writing has helped me to vent and absorb what it is that is going on in my life. Life will move forward and we all must keep up or be left behind. Ruth |

I think we've all felt the pain of loosing someone close to us. I have to say you've written about it very nicely. BWA~ ~Formerly known as Broken Winged Angel~ |

The loss of anyone is so hard to bear, but it intensifies when they are taken away so young. I am so Sorry for your loss, and hope your expression in writing allows release. I too understand where you come from, he was 5 years old and left us due to the illness of cancer. I feel your pain and send love and blessings your way. |
