Ever had one of those days? Where you feel out of step with the world. You feel terrible but cannot figure why. Where you hurt and cannot pinpoint the place that hurts the worst. When you think there's no sense doing anything, Because it will be wrong. You don't want to see anyone Because then you would have to face yourself. How easy it would be to blend into the wall. To be invisible to all who pass by. To watch them do whatever it is they do. But then you think, I used to do those things. But there is no joy in doing them anymore. My pleasure seems to be in turning inwards upon myself, In criticizing every thing I do, every thought I have. So I hold out my hand , searching for a friend. Though it's the hardest thing I have ever done. And when I thought that no one would grasp it, I feel a squeeze, ever so slight. There is somebody, a soul that cares To walk with me, through this maze of paths. And then, when I least expect it, Out of the blue, comes a puff of wind upon my cheek, A song of a bird, a drop of rain from a clear sky. I hear a child laugh and my heart is lifted. I look into the sky and say, thank you. For showing me that I am a part of Something great, something grand. And should I feel this way again, May I look into the sky and Know again just why I am here. Cheechako |

Many thanks to both of you for making me welcome here. The poem itself is a compilation of a lot of individual days over the past few years. I've had a few of medical problems and some days it seem too much. Then I get over it. I hope you enjoy some of my other pieces, which are an little snippet of my personality. Wado, Cheechako |
