My Album of Memories

My pictures are my memories tucked
Into a silver frame;
Or in between some pages glued.
Part of the past to claim.

My daddy sitting proud and tall,
Mama's hand upon his arm,
Driving his young, lively team
In rare trip from the farm.

And here is one of their first car,
Just see my mama's smile.
As I've heard tell it was the one
That broke down every mile.

And as the babies came along
They'd add them one by one
Into the family portrait;
Seven kids before they're done.

Then marriages and grandkids,
Everyone is shown with pride.
That Kodak recorded lifetimes,
Before it up and died.

They'd be surprised if they could see
The pictures of today.
We take them now with digital
And email them all away.

I've gathered old and new alike
To place on my computer screen.
In black and white or color
My family history is seen.
