Terribly Beauty

It’s always a tragedy when one falls in love with a face rather than a heart
For beauty fades- that is only evident, and yet, we find ourselves looking for it
Even when it would seem to the world it is gone, there is still beauty, but it the heart
And perhaps that is the most beautiful of all things, the beauty of soul

For, I suppose the beauty of the soul is this, it never fades, it only grows and changes
Carnal beauty is nothing like the beauty of the soul; it is constantly marred day by day
We find most of our intelligence through the finding of faults of literary characters
Who teach us, if we listen, of the beauty of things other than the viewable

There is always a terror in finding out what one really is in the beautiful sense
It is sometimes a terrible beauty, some have not much, and some a haunting amount
There’s a point where enters in the Dorian Grey Complex, a wish for beauty forever
The idiocy of such a wish doesn’t enter the thoughts of those who wish such a thing

So very very true. it's times like this when someone makes me wake up and get outta the dream I was in. Life is expressed so well in your poem. Well see if you can make any sense of what I just said

wow i really love this poem, the idea that you wrote about here is something i think about literally every day. i think this is one of my favorites that you've done
