Some days, all I need is a cup of coffee And I’m back to bein’ what I was But sometimes I just don’t know how to deal You hear adults say all the time I wish I could be a kid again But don’t they know times have changed It’s not what it used to be I’ve been told That you could see the water From highway 98 I’ve been told That yellow and black used to be so great I’ve been told That the internet used to be so safe Oh but times have changed In this world You shouldn’t walk at night alone In this world There’s no such thing as too bold In this world There are names to make the bad seem good In this world Cause ya can seems to mean you should But I don’t think so I was brought up right I’ve stayed away from trouble Cause I seen what it does With my very own eyes Don’t they know We shouldn’t be living like this Don’t they know We make a change Don’t they know It’s not just up to the next generation Don’t they know Can’t they see Times have changed You say it’s not your fault That’s the way the world is Oh but don’t ya know it shouldn’t be like this What about all the little kids? What about their lives? Do you think They should grow up Seeing what’s on TV Do you think You can actually prevent them From seeing the things you’ve seen? I remember I saw the towers fall When I was 8 years old And it broke my heart to realize That people did these things We can make a difference Don’t you understand We can bring change Don’t you understand It’s not what it used to be Oh my…how times have changed…. Don’t you understand We can make a difference Don’t you understand We can bring change Don’t you understand It’s not what is used to be Ohhh… how times have changed |

I remember I saw the towers fall When I was 8 years old And it broke my heart to realize That people did these things I know I was 8 too when the towers fell. I couldn't believe it. For about a week in my naive mind I didnt think anyone could really do that I blamed my neighbor, who I was fighting with, who was maybe ten. I thought it was his fault. Then I realized that it wasn't and i was schocked. |
