Well guys first post in a month... bit scary i know.. well i'm back at school while Ella is in daycare and for one of my assignments i was asked to do a biography of a weaver named Nilda Callanaupa so i decided to do a poem.. anyway here it is.. and suggestions of improvement are very welcome High above the Andes Mountains in the south east of Peru Sits a lady quietly tying a bow in ayoung boys shoe She stops and listens to the breeze for this is where she shall call her home Here she will remain for several years with no tendances to roam She sits high above these mountains looking down below Looking back upon her life and just how much more talent she has to show She has travelled the world sailed the seven seas She has even weaved her magic upon the threads beneath an Aussie gum tree. She’s shown the world just how much class an Andean weaver possess The director of The Traditional Textiles Centre who doesn’t need to wear fancy dresses. Her name is Nilda Callanaupa another lady of this world And she will show her pure talent when the Bothwell Spin in is again held We will once again sit hypnotized as the feeling of magic lingers When the whole nation will stop to watch threads dance gently upon her fingers And when that blanket is finished we shall take a breath Because this Andean weavers magic shall live on until our death |
