Just Let Me Be Mad

Let me slam my bedroom door,
Let me kick the bed.
We both know you could calm me down,
Could get inside my head.
And I'll probably yell,
Say things I don't mean.
So do me a favor, sweetheart,
And tonight, just let me.

Now, I don't get mad very often,
I'm too even-tempered for that.
And as a result, people come to me,
With their problems and all that good jazz.
You know you could snap me out of it,
All you have to do is smile,
But, just for tonight,
I'd like you to let me be mad for a while.

Sometimes a girl needs
To throw an angry, horrible fit.
And rest assured that latter,
I'm gonna feel terrible for it.
But even when I feel that bad,
I'm also going to be all right.
So please, sweetheart,
Just let me be mad tonight.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! I can easily relate to this, and the idea was something I know I wouldn't think of but you did an amazing job of this.

Hi WaterFairy103,

Not my favorite of poems by you but it was an enjoyable read just the same. I know exactly where this is coming from when I experience these feelings in my own life.

Thanks for sharing, I'd love to read more of your poems in the future if you'd be so willing to share
