I felt the world move today
Crack a little at the edge
Another solemn cry was heard
From deep beyond the hedge

She was sitting in the garden
Wrapped in her daddy’s arms
Clutching tightly to his hand
Blinded by his charms

“See mummy’s over there sweetheart”
He whispered in her ear
“Can’t you see her pretty face”
“And her eyes so full of fear”

“You see mummy’s scared herself inside”
“Scared that she’ll mess it up”
“But daddy’s right here beside her”
“And I’m not giving up”

The tears could not be held in place
As they rolled down her mummy's cheek
How could the man who loved her so
Know that she was weak

The night had gone by brisk fully
And the baby’s cry was heard
it echoed through the nights cool air
As her mummy woke without a word

But staring right before her eyes
A baby she made in love
A promise of a lifetime joy
And as pretty as a dove
