A heart Gentle and innocent Thrumming strings of life that Thump with the blood beneath soft skin. Air whirls through ice that flushes Scarlet in the light. A quiet beat that Echoes in the warm night air, A whisper in the ear Of sighing Summer days And the hazy nights beneath the moon. Memories tinkle beneath the glass Like butterflies trapped In a clear-glass bottle Oh, but that was Many years ago. And as each player moves their piece, confident and tall |
