I wrote this to my dad. Let me know what you think. Being this girl: Fifteen years old, And I've yet to earn your praise. Your words are sharp, And hurt in so many ways. I've yet to hear a compliment, Or receive words of love, And no matter how I try, My best is not enough. It's impossible to make you proud, Or to gain your respect, And I'm slowly giving up, Well, what did you expect? Dad I know that I'm not perfect, Nor do I wish to be, But being this girl is difficult, When you disapprove of what you see. |
