To the One

Darkness has crawled
Within my mind

Twilight has burned
Horrid and grey

And lights been here
But not to stay

This is a letter
To the one

To the one whom
I have known

Who has raised me
Beyond what I am

The darkness still crawls
Twilight still burns

But you were there
And I am still alive

Still walking strong
Thanks to the one

So I’ll raise my glass
In fond tribute

And if I stand alone
Among strangers to salute

Then know I’m here
I am here for you

I’ll always be there
For the one who kept me sane
