The Grandeur of a Broken Stone The Grandeur of a Broken Stone Fell Tyrants victr’y prize A thing of glory and wonder Which men cannot despise For we do honor lesser men Than have wrought before And so we gaze in wonder Honor the days of yore A Stone rolled down the mountain And was shaped by many hands Then t’was dashed against harder stone Thus was left for all to see What is it that we gaze upon? What is it that we see? For a Broken Stone’s still broken No matter how great it be If these things are forgotten Then mistakes are made again But remembrance brings with it A cruel, swinging pendulum From sins large in grandeur Comes the subtle and refined But what scares me more than all: Both are respected in kind ‘Tis a fine line which we tread Remember the sins of the past But learn from the lies of the moment Lest they return, lest they last For the Broken Stone is beautiful But broken it certainly is And as another starts to fall, Pray you are not crushed "Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you." Thanks Smiles! Your right this poem has nothing to do with a stone. This is about sociaty, more specificaly the development of sociaty. "Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you." Earl |
