Heard and Yet not Heard Ah my favorite sound Oh the music that abounds That grows so near to me I forget what they say And try though I may To understand a task incomplete I mouth along And sing every song To words that I once knew But the meanings have escaped The truth of what I say And now it’s only sound It’s funny how that works The things the mind does shirk And the way we let it loose But the true game understanding The rules and where you’re standing For the words mean most of all and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |
