United We Stand, Divided We Fall

We had a fun night and now you are scared,
To take that test you need, you will not dare.
A new life may be made, two will become one.
You’re afraid of the consequences and afraid of the glares.
“She’s a slut! She’s a slut! who does that?”

When your parents discover just what happened,
They will throw all blame and accusations to me
How terribly scared you are, they will never see.
They want me to leave you and want me to forget you.
I tell them I can’t do that because of a strong promise I made so long ago.

Don’t you see? I promised I cannot leave your side in your time of need.
I know you’re scared, you need me here.
No matter what your parents may say,
I’ll find a way to help you, I’ll find a way to be true.

They will yell and they scream, my parents will agree,
I need to leave you and let you be,
You scream no, but you are not heard.
Your parents I tell, I will not leave.
We accept what happened, this life we will raise.

Maybe one day our parents will see,
Yes we made a mistake, but we will not break.
Maybe they will see,
The true love between you and me.

Stressful times lie down the road of life,
Together we will travel, and together we will conquer.
In 9 quick months this life will be here,
So will I to help and to raise,
This child we now have, I will not forsake.

I cannot abandon you and I cannot forget you,
You and this child are now a part of me.
Maybe one day everyone else will see,
What happened with us, a mistake was made.
Strong we will be, weak we are not.

Thank you for the comments guys. I'm not actually going through this, but my girlfriend and I had a scare a few weeks ago and I wanted to write something like this.

ummm, you know, finally as i have been growing older, i can finally see how people fall into things like this. I used to be so in shock how people could let things get that far- but truly it isn't very hard. I was nice to see a guy's pov on this, i never have before.

Yea, thats how I was too..until I was nearly living it. A lot of guys that I know would run away when something like this happens instead of standing up and saying Yea I know what I did and yes I'm ashamed..but it's my kid and I'm raising it. I made my girlfriend cry when I told her that's what I would do.
