My Goodbye

Let’s take a deep breath
And just admit
That we care about the world
And its stupid thoughts

Let’s just wait
For a moment more than we have
And speak of things
That only we understand

Could we take a walk
Just you and I
To places where
We don’t have to hide in shame

I’m tired of running
I don’t want to hide
So I’m leaving you now
This is my goodbye

I want you so badly
But I don’t want to be
The only thing in life
That keeps you from me

I can’t go where you are
And you don’t want to be
Where I am right now
It’s sadly simple

But I can’t tear us
Hurt us both
It’s my fault things are like this
So, this is my goodbye
