Human

It seems to me dear
My only true human qualities
Are the qualities you hate most

It seems like the rest
Of the traits I contain
Are above your understanding

You say you wish
That I was more human
Trust is the prize for stupidity

For isn’t that what humanity is?
Stupidity at its finest
And it’s what you want from me

You want me to act stupid
(As if I’m not brainless enough already)
Because it makes me seem “more real”

I’m a tease and a flirt
But I have values and lines
Sometimes they’re a bit ridged

I hope that you will see
That all I want is to be
Less human than I already am
