My seventh grade geometry teacher Showed us the world an old dusty chart. I never thought that boring lesson Would land so close to my heart. I knew that love could stretch for miles, It's even happened where I could see. But I was taken a little aback When it happened so strongly to me. You see, my heart's in California, Five whole states away. And even though there's miles between us, I love him more every day. I grin when I get an e-mail from him, Laugh out loud when it's his number on the phone. I know no matter where we are, Where he is will always be home. I pretend he's sleeping with me at night, His arms are always around me. When he laughs, it turns my head, How amazing he is constantly astounds me. Yeah, my heart's in California, It's a real long-distance call. But when I get to be in his arms, It'll be worth it all. I can't see him as often as I want, He can't hold me when I'm upset. But it's not that I can't ever see him, It's just I can't see him yet. I don't get to touch his hand, Or kiss him in the rain. And the fact that he's not here with me, Leaves my heart with a dull, steady pain. Yes, my heart's in California, It sucks beyond belief. But one day soon, we'll be together, Just you wait and see! You know what, I may not be his last, and I'm certainly not his first. But right now, in this snippet of time, I'm his, and that's enough. |

I did a long distance relationship for a year. Although there's a large difference he never called me. You can survive through it don't give up! good poem -Tara I’m good during the day. But at night I wait.I wait for the one who’ll never return. |

I love california, long distance can work if you really care for each other. It seems you do. Your poems always feel like a song to me because of the rythmn and they are all just good. I have writers block but I need to write because I have alot of emotions just bottled up. |
