Irish blood flows through my veins Blood of ancestors long gone Ancestors from green country dear Who through courage and pride adoration gained My belief unwavering That God did look Upon country green and say “I’ve completed the world, And I do think, This green land matches Eden best.” He smiled upon my country dear The land to which I’ve never been He smiled and thought back to time begun And said “Had I sent them here, They’d not have sinned.” |
