Once……, I came to very near To catch a glimpse of the elusive called Balladeer In his prose’s he’s always full of cheer Energy you may say, Well yes, so it may appear! Thinking he’s more of a Shakespeare Words so finely twisted and yet so clearly clear Words still ringing hours later in your ear Some days you wonder: Did I hear? This elusive what we call Balladeer I say he’s made from the older type of Veneer Always exploring a new never seen frontier So don’t be unclear I know he is here. So this is all I had to adhere In his elusive Name I have a Beer Good cheer Balladeer |

Though it may seem he's seldom here, That sly, elusive Balladeer Let me make it very clear The troubadour is always near. It's true he has a hard veneer But all's not how it may appear. It covers heart of soft cashmere That beats within the Balladeer. His mind kicks into higher gear As he pens thoughts meant to endear In ways that makes his point quite clear. Such is the way of Balladeer. To some he is a little dear To others, he's a racketeer But he is just a puppeteer. No one pulls strings like Balladeer. His words can pierce one like a spear Or settle gently on the ear But, either way, you need not fear You'll get the truth from Balladeer. He's been around, year after year, Which, in itself, seems rather queer But poetry is his career And this is home to Balladeer. So, HelmutB, I raise a cheer To you, my fine poetic peer. Just come on by - we'll have a beer! You and your good friend Balladeer. One of the greatest compliments to a poet is to have a poem written about him - or her. I thank you, my friend. |

Thank you kindly for your words Earth Angel. Balladeer I have to admit, you are my favorite poet (although we not to show it) you however showed it in your reply as to why. Thank you! The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |
