The thunder claps and lightning strikes Upon the barren earth likened to my soul The rains fall down like tears from heaven Making me shudder on every thunder roll Where are you my pretty face As it seems heaven will completely unfold The torrents of rain, the silver streaks Like arrows pierce my soul The bolt of lightning splits the majestic tree Leaving smoke billowing out as i reel Quicken to my heart i feel this pain And pray lest heart be still Brillant lightning flashes reveal your face Images on dark billowing clouds so near The rain in sheets keep falling down And on my lips i taste your tears |
