A Blues Song What is a blues song? What does it have to say? Is it about some sad things? Or. about a gloomy, rainy day? Who does it have to touch? How should it make you feel? Should it be far-fetched? Or about, something real? Should the words bring a tear? Or, should they make you smile? Or maybe, just tap your foot For just a little while? How should it be played? Should it be soft and low? Maybe with a simple tune You think, you already know. I could write a blues song But, doubt that it would sell Unless there is a record store Down in the depths of Hell! Abe, Probably each of us who read your poem will answer your questions differently, but I sincerly doubt that your blues song would be written in hell. I think you write the poetic blues very well. Happy New Year. Alison |

Well Abe I'm not trying to steal your post but being a songwriter this is how I would put a blues song together.... I love the questions you ask........ Blues Don't Forget (blues song) Gonna sit right here by this firelight. Watch the shadows climb the wall try to get through the night. Open another bottle and refill my glass and wish you were here with the love you said would last. Now everybody gets down and blue but me I'm slowly dying thinkin bout you...... I know you left me but you're not gone yet you're still right here where these blues don't forget I wanna call out your name and talk bout our love wanna ease all the trouble between the two of us But I know you can't hear me cause you left like the wind so I'm sittin here hurtin wishin you'd come back again I'll stare at the ceiling and cry at the walls and swim through these feelings till a dead sleep calls... I know you left me but you're not gone yet you're still right here where these blues don't forget. bridge: I'll talk to your picture and hope I hear your voice But I'll just answer myself cause I ain't got no choice I know you left me but you're not gone yet you're still right here where these blues don't forget......... |
