. It was not only That outside world Which put such sadness On his face There is A particular sorrow For a wedded man Who has worst than No one to whom When alone with her He can turn The hostile looks And vicious speech . . . The physical abuse All centered upon His really not being Just good enough Cultures a torture Behind the brow So when He felt that blow To the back of his head The first response his mind May have finally had Was what is it again For all my endeavoring I have done wrong now . |
