It was the same every day. She would take a booth and he the bar. Sometimes in unison Each removed then lit their cigarettes, In ritual both taking a swig of coffee. She would read the paper, He would write for it, His leather bound book at his side. Both in love with stories. Stories of places they had never been, People they had never met. Only…he was experiencing the adventure The discovering of both. Creating for his public, The visions of life’s events. To him, she was never seen Dirty flaxen hair And a coat full of wear So invisible to the story tellers eyes. Then on a day, A day much like today, She was taken into the mission. Cleaned and scrubbed Given clothes and grub A bed to sooth her aching bones. Charity gave her hope And with money from a job She stopped to have her coffee And she was seen… |

This seems like a moment that only a poet could have observed... so tell me, truth, or fiction? |

I could vividly see it playing out before me in sepia tones. Great metaphorical writing! Abracadabra! Linda |

Like the open end of this and it's a really well told poetic story. Eric |
