Fairy Kisses When she was small my daughter had a game she loved to play “I’m the fairy princess Daddy”, is what she'd always say I was the enchanted frog that lived down by the pond These are memories of which I always will be fond The mean and nasty witch had placed an evil spell on me A fairy princess kiss was just the thing to set me free She’d say “I’ll turn you to a prince” while standing on her toes And giving me her fairy kisses right upon my nose I always will be grateful for the spell that witch conceived For all the fairy princess kisses I ever received And in these autumn years I still remember times like those When my little fairy princess placed a kiss upon my nose My daughter’s a young woman now, all beautiful and grown One day she’ll have a fairy princess of her very own I’ll tell her about mommy and the times we had like this Then maybe this ole frog can get another fairy kiss |

If ever there was a Daddy who deserved another fairy kiss from his daughter, it's you. I would wager that you were the kind of father that every little ~ and big ~ girl would be fortunate to have. This poem was delicate, precious, and very sweet. Linda |

I haven't been around in a while. I'm glad I got a chance to read this one. As usual, you're a master of warmth and family closeness. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

to misquote a famous writer, "those were the best of times, and they were the best of times." The father-daughter relationship wouldn't be as special without those fairy kisses. Nice write...brings back a lot of pleasant memories (oh, and btw, the grand-daughter kisses are just as nice) ...tons of smiles... |

Sewasham - You've given the reader a poetic glimpse depicting a beautiful slice of life infused with a tenderness that only the poet's deft pen can create. The older we get the more we appreciate the memories. Thanks for the peek at yours. Namyh |

Sewasham, that is one delightful poem and a lovely memory to keep forever. I was very fortunate in having four daughters to give me fairy kisses, one of my most treasured memories. I just loved your poem my friend. Lindsay |

Fairy Princesses always have a kiss for their frog prince daddies. This makes me think of my own daughters, long grown, who have a frog prince dad, too. He tells them he hates to be hugged and kissed, and of course they make sure he gets a double dose to "suffer" through! LOL Loved this, Steve! |

Hi, Steve! Lovingly penned about those early days when girls are princesses and they just don't know it yet. Makes me wish I had a girl so much (had two boys). Salute'! Jeff |

This is real nice. Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand. |
