What will they do without you? The beauty of your soul When the words come in And there is no one to tend, No one to cherish, The stories that they tell. Where will my eyes go now? When they are lonesome For the elegant stance, The grace of you, That flutters a heart anew. What will I do without you? There's more, but it's time to go... |

I think you precisely pegged, Kat, how a person might feel after leaving behind friends at work. This recently happened to me, and I still look up, wanting to share something specific with a co-worker, but they ain't thar no more. Life is a series of experiences, traded off for another. Jeff |

Dear Kat, this strings a chord in me ... and well, I can relate also to Jeff's reply! So beautifully rendered! Love, Margherita |

Thank you for your comments. I hate what this economy is doing to some of the best, the brightest and most incredible human beings I have had the privilege of working with. I don't know who it is worse for, the person who is forced into their new journey, or the one's remaining who mourne their loss and every day fear the same fate. |

A caring and compassionate write. These are painful times. That old saying "Here today. Gone tomorrow" sadly comes to mind. May you never be laid off ~ and may you never lay off writing! ![]() Linda |

amusemi - the economy today is a destroyer of dreams, and accomplished by the idiots running Washington. Hope this isn't too strong, but... BC |

Thank you Linda, you are always so kind. Bill-with a little help from those running Corporate America (and well some abroad, too), to include those with extravagant and undeserved paychecks and bonuses, without ethics, common sense...nope, not too strong. Don't get me started! LOL |

You speak so well for what so many are going through at this time. Losing one's livelyhood is so emotionally jarring, I have watched my brother go through this recently. It is especially devastating for a person in their fifties who has spent many years with the same company. Thank God, I am retired. Ida |
