Love's Reason

Fluttering heartbeat
Sweet, soft sigh
Love's quandary
Won't satisfy
Reason's hunger
Reason's tense
In mind's eye love
Makes little sense
"We fall in love
And with out luck
We're in a hole
With no way up!"
The mind would say
To love's dear rush
But our hearts' song
Will cry, "No! Hush!
Love's warm tones
Make bright our days
Make life worth living
Through its haze
Love adds hue
To life's palette
And lights the dark
Of dull mindset
It gives us strength
When nothing's right
For love's great cause
We'll always fight
It gives us rest
From wordly cares
Love rights our world
When in despair."
Love is the healing
Hand we wield;
Against life's pain
Love is out shield.

I really quite liked your poem,
In the last line were you going for "OUR" shield?
