Listening to every heart

I Am the Sun.

Once,

I
was
known
as
Ra,
glorified, deified
and ratified in excellence.

I was
"the creator of all
that is and is not yet…
the father of fathers and the mother
of mothers."

I was
"the God of the living
and my brother Osiris
the God of the Dead."

I do many things.

Nay,
do not worship me
as the son worshipers did,
or the sun-worshipers of today
still do.

I am just here.

I have been
duly worshiped
by the scene of
the falcon,
and do not need more
sacrifices made.

I am not alone.

Perhaps I led you to
monotheism.

I give life;
see the nurturing
of your greenery
and the warmth
upon your face.

I take life;
see death
quiet,
even in my
brightness.

You behold my
arising
joyfully.

You bid me
good morrow.

I bring to you the
start of many things,

and end them
at eventide.

I am sought
in solitude
at the close
of day.

Even then
I am not
gone,

but

live on,

in the shimmer of
earth's moon.

I have
life.

I can span only
so much
time.

While I am here
I will
give you what
I can.

For righteous
or
adverse.

I am the Sun.

I am.

Can you live
without
me?

*smile*

Now this is kinda weird.

(Okay, serendipitous?)

I hadn't read this--I was writing, and I see you revised it on, well, a day I intend to let pass.

Amen-RA!

and shaking my head

I still say our timing is weird

but I enjoy weird.

This is beautiful, Karilea. I love it. I wouldn't want to live without the Sun.

Some very interesting thoughts in there.  Pondering and nodding.  Much enjoyed, Karilea.

fine 'write' !

I am especially fond of:

"I am sought
  in solitude
  at the close
  of day.

  Even then
  I am not
  gone,

  but

  live on,

  in the shimmer of
  earth's moon."

A universe of history and
chain of existence, we should
indeed be thankful for the Sun,

Wonderful personification! And you are his shining daughter!

And Arctic Wind has not seen this yet!?

It's a joy to read, dear Karilea.

I have spent a lot of time studying ancient Egypt and I think this is excellent.
