.

How difficult
It‘s become
To speak beyond
The idioms of routine

To tell the truth
I couldn’t care less
What new movies
There are
Being shown in town

To the east of us
The factory lights
Glow red and blue
Under a canopy of stars

Be as you were . . .
Or as I dreamed you were

If words fail
Let them bow
Silent and still
Let them do no harm

On this desert of now
So separate selves
With a look in your eyes
Bring a gentle rain
As will nourish the need

With a touch of your hand
Let memory of that moisture
Suddenly grow and flow
Stirring again a river inside

A freshet with me
Falling for you

Moment by moment
Toward the sea

Beautiful indeed. "On this desert of now."
...Wish I had written that.

I am especially fond of the ending ...

AND:

"If words fail
Let them bow
Silent and still
Let them do no harm"
