I can't tell you how I feel
Cause I don't even know,
So I'll Just put on a happy face
If only just for show.

I don't see why it matters
You've never liked the truth,
I see a sigh under that smile
You're fighting nail and tooth.

You can't do this forever
Someday you'll have to loose,
Please, just let me be myself
It's my time to choose.

I know that you won't understand
So i don't even try,
So,for now, I'll wear this mask
While inside my heart dies.

"you can't gain anything , until you lose something"

Ashlee,

Boy!  Do I understand this one!  Well written - I wonder if you let your Dad read this one.  This poem would have really helped me back when I lived with my father.

Thank you for sharing.

He got to read it- he just didn't really care. He has this superficial view as to what I'm supposed to be and I'm the exact oposite... I'm an Army brat though, I assume his views on what a person should be is based on that... I'm glad you liked it!
