look across the waters he plainly cried
sea, the scene serene, and surely see
soft billows, wave droplings, mists inside
a yearning heart's desire, the very depths of me

look across the waters he plainly cried
wafting silent stillness, set upon serenity
lavish charms surreal in lives yet untried
hopes on uncharted shores of tranquility

look across the waters he plainly cried
as if the deeps were no longer there
and islands' drift had melded far and wide
into one, without distinction, without care

look across the waters he plainly cried
and I almost did...I almost did

A vision full of temptations and wonderful images.  Some things in here to ponder for sure expecially the allure on the horizon.  Beautifully done.

Somehow this beautiful verse speaks to me, dear Steaven.

Just today your book "Buffet of the mind" has arrived. I love the cover and the quiet green color and I am sure I will highly appreciate the content! Read "First love" and it brought a smile ...

Margherita

Mark,
thank you for reading and meditating on this...I certainly appreciate it...Just glad you invested your time in it enough to read and comment as well

Tracey,
thank you for stopping by and getting the gist of this...many thanks

Rex,
so glad that you enjoyed this...I really do appreciate your kind comments

Margherita,
so glad you found something special in these lines...wasn't sure I was even going to include  them...and thanks for the comments on the book.

that poem, "First Love", was in tribute to Miss Rice...I still fondly recall her after all these years (and have remained a romantic because of her.)

thank you very much for purchasing "Buffet of the Mind."  I don't even know how to say thank you or tell you how much that means to me, so I will just say thanks and I really appreciate it.

Good morning, Steaven ~

I found great comfort in the following stanza ~
"look across the waters he plainly cried
wafting silent stillness, set upon serenity
lavish charms surreal in lives yet untried
hopes on uncharted shores of tranquility"

Thank you!

Love & Light,

Linda
