I don't want to spill my guts
across another virgin page,
spattered, scarlet
Rorschach blots to glean
evaluation,
examination,
judgment.

I don't want to leak and drain
what little I have left
from shallow pools
of shadowed ache,
from veins of thought
unsung,
unstrung
through fingers
manic wading.

I don't want to turn me
inside out, exposing
sacred altars kept
to harsher sight
more brittle light,
prefer the night-
its silent voice caressing.

I don't want to hear or speak
those thorn-dipped words
much better left unsaid,
unheard,
a silent bird
caught
in the boughs of mourning.

This wish for silence inspired you beautifully. Especially loved the last stanza. Silence holds enchanting tunes.

Love,
Margherita

unheard,
a silent bird
caught
in the boughs of mourning.

I liked the entire poem very much... but these lines are just gorgeous. *S* Welcome to Passions! *S*

Not sure whether this is exasperation at passionless critique, or just a glorious paradox.
Whatever, it's top drawer in my book. Keep spilling your guts, there's nothing more cathartic.

This is such an emotional write.

Your ending is sadly beautiful and seemed to soften the blow.

Welcome to Passions, AlluraD~
