In The Weight of Your Stare

Whisper then, the particles of ambivalent starlight
Flowing off your lips, in glistening ice chips, where I shower until dawn
Meant to be cool, in the backhand of my warm gaze, melted into rain
Oh thoughtful love, such bravado makes its muscles through your shirt
Flexing me al dente, as we move in breathless dance through time
The sharp edge of my intellect persuades me to take care
And I have known since the first day that you alone provoke
Every satin thought in petals on my pillow
Each chapter that has turned remains innocent pages where blossoms press
Somehow more defined and fortuitous than finished
Where now the blush on my body reminds the sun to shine
That I may note the cold, and place in thought your hand to transform it
And as you read my words, and feel the music of my voice make song
It is the presence of this deep and mighty bond that tarries not the wind
But more the fan of some unwavering eternal flame
Sent first from above, to reside in my soul and rally then the dark of evening bliss
Whisper then, the quivered softness weighted in your kiss
To be my quench and craving, every rippled leaf renewed and waiting
As joy is our creation, draped upon me in the weight of your stare

Ahh, dear Kathleen, you weave words with a higher knowledge of this art. Simply stunning.

Powerfully subtle are the touches and knowledge you pen so skillfully here.  That the chapters of innocence are still be written is a tremendous metaphor to tribute love and joy.

this one is a real beauty...you have displayed your soul here...I really loved these lines:

"Every satin thought in petals on my pillow
Each chapter that has turned remains innocent pages where blossoms press
Somehow more defined and fortuitous than finished"
