The last time I posted a poem called "Summer's Mistakes" I posted the wrong poem ("For Those Who Follow After") instead. So, here is "Summer's Mistakes" for real this time. "Summer's Mistakes" The changing seasons carry with them summer's past mistakes Those days of old I'd rather not relive And mem'ries tear upon my fragile heart until it breaks My eyes, I fear, have yet more tears to give An old adage says Time heals all, if only that were true Then just perhaps my broken soul would mend But changing bleeding wounds to scars is all that Time can do And scars are borne until the bitter end March 18, 2009 AMdG |

Scars can be a vivid reminder of the lessons we have learned. And if you learn from your mistakes, then, hopefully, in time, you will grow to respect them for what they are. Just be carefull not to get to many of them. Tracey. |
