And winter secedes from this landscape… In each kiss of silvery sun Spring breathes her green blush into the earth. Intrepid caterpillars crinkle and release… crinkle and release… slowly inching forward on dewy boughs knowing their destiny is to eat grow strong and fly. Tiny buds grow fat with anticipation then crack and burst releasing the eager flittering leaves that yearn to be tickled by the wind. Tree branches stretch skyward like gleeful children’s arms, thrusting their flower-laden fingers into an endless pool of blue. Chiming laughter of lovers and friends rings softly on front lawns, in splashes of cool shade, and spreads like a happy rumor through my neighborhood. ~*Krista Botterill*~ "Creating yourself is a spiritual act." ~ Susan Vreeland |

I'll buy that. As We put away our winter coats and break out the shorts, I too look so forward to digging in the dirt, mowing the lawn, planting new flowers, and sweating over all of it. Thanks for a very beautiful and picturesque poem. Tracey |

Yo dear Alwye, I like your intrepid caterpillars, just eating away at the foliage. Then, of course there’s the all important silk worm. Love Bobby |

I live in Minnesota and it has been a very long, very harsh winter, so I couldn't help basking in the glory of spring. |

Hi, Alwye! ~ Long time no read! ~ But this one certainly makes up for lost time! lol You truly capture the blush of spring. ~ The freshness and joy of a burgeoning new world! I doubt I will ever be able to look at a caterpillar inching its way along without thinking of your words ~ "crinkle and release ~ crinkle and release..." Giving you a happy spring hug, EA |

"Tree branches stretch skyward like gleeful children’s arms, thrusting their flower-laden fingers into an endless pool of blue." You can create such a vivid picture with a unique phrasing. And this brings feelings reeling through my head: "Chiming laughter of lovers and friends rings softly on front lawns, in splashes of cool shade, and spreads like a happy rumor through my neighborhood." I enjoy reading you. |

I have always enjoyed the way you pay attention to nature and then bring it to us. ( still have the autographed one ) I especially liked the following ..... ******************************************** Intrepid caterpillars crinkle and release… crinkle and release… slowly inching forward on dewy boughs knowing their destiny is to eat grow strong and fly. ******************************************** Beautiful write and a pleasure to see your name in here again. |
