In laughter and love,
we shared a day
as the sea shivered
under the wind.
We chased cloud shadows,
in wet rippled sands;
our feet splashing
made rainbows of light.
Lightly our hearts touched
as the morning sun
touches a field of daisies.

Though many seek her,
it is a dangerous thing
to look into her eyes
and feel the beat
of her goddess heart:
I will no longer seek for love
upon this forlorn shore
and I close my eyes
to welcome swift darkness
for I know that upon waking
I will see a light: it will be her,
walking in flowing grace;
beckoning me
to laugh and run again
upon her endless shore.

This has an ethereal beauty that I think only a few can imagine, WW.

Oh yeah.  And you can't go again--it's not the same day.  It's gone.  I like this one!

WindWalker - A great human quest is to laugh and run again on Love's endless shore. I guess that's why we're poets who tell the stories of Love. Thanks WindWalker for this poetic reminder. Enjoyed a lot. Namyh

Yo WindWalker,

There's nothing like that first love that keeps returning.

grand imagery/a most fine 'write' !

I am especially fond of:

"...as the sea shivered
under the wind.
We chased cloud shadows,
in wet rippled sands"

significant applause for this 'penning' !!

Tender the circles in this poem that seems a memory... I like especially the joyous ending that undoes distance and time. The gems we gather, and memory is the box we open to treasure.
